Why Do People Take Collagen Supplements?
Collagen is a vital protein that plays a crucial role in maintaining the health and structure of our skin, joints, fascia, eyes, bones and even our brains. After the age of thirty, our bodies start producing less collagen, leading to signs of aging like wrinkles, joint pain, and bone loss among other things. This is why many people turn to collagen supplements to boost their collagen levels.

What are Common Forms of Collagen Supplements?
Collagen supplements come in various forms, such as pills, powders, and liquids. However, recent scientific studies have shown that liquid collagen is the most effective form of collagen supplement.
Why is Liquid Collagen Better than Powder or Pills?
Here are the four main reasons to use the liquid form of collagen rather than pills or powders:
1-Faster Absorption Rate
2-Higher Concentration of Collagen Peptides
3-Easier to Take
4-Improved and Faster Results According to Liquid Collagen Studies
1- Faster Absorption Rate
Liquid collagen has a faster absorption rate than pills or powders. This is because liquids are already broken down into small peptides that are easier for the body to digest and absorb. Several studies have shown that liquid collagen is absorbed faster than other forms of collagen supplements.
One study published in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry found that:
… liquid collagen had a bioavailability rate of 98% compared to just 40% for collagen pills. This means that your body can absorb almost all of the collagen in a liquid supplement, while it can only absorb a small fraction of collagen from pills.

2-Higher Concentration of Collagen Peptides
Liquid collagen supplements usually have a higher concentration of collagen peptides than other forms of collagen supplements. This means that you get more collagen per serving, which can lead to better results.
For example, a study published in the Journal of Nutrition and Metabolism found that participants who took a liquid collagen supplement saw a 12% increase in skin elasticity and a 13% reduction in wrinkles after just four weeks. This was compared to participants who took a pill form of collagen, who saw no significant changes in skin elasticity or wrinkles.
3-Easier to Take
Liquid collagen supplements are also easier to take than pills or powders. If you’ve ever tried mixing a powder supplement you’ll really appreciate the ease of popping the lid and drinking the supplement. It’s just so convenient and that means you’ll be consistent at taking it which is what gives results.
4-Improved and Faster Results According to Liquid Collagen Studies
In addition to the study mentioned above, other studies have also shown that liquid collagen supplements can be particularly beneficial. One study published in the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition found that liquid collagen supplementation led to significant improvements in joint pain and mobility in athletes.
Another study published in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology found that liquid collagen supplementation improved joint pain and stiffness in patients with osteoarthritis.

My Collagen Story
The media is full of hype about collagen and I was early to learn the news because I worked in the natural supplement industry and attended the national trade shows. I started with the pill form of collagen. You had to swallow a lot of pills! That made it uncomfortable over time and I didn’t notice any results so I eventually stopped. Then the market moved to powders and I gave collagen another chance. The powders were even harder to take than the pills. Uness you’re already making a smoothie everyday, it’s hard to mix up the powdered collagen and on top of that, I travel a lot which makes it even harder. At the end of the day, the bovine collagen I tried didn’t yield results I could see or feel so the powder sat in my cupboard and expired.
Then in May of 2022, I was asked to participate in a consumer trial for a new supplement from a highly reputable company with technically advanced products. I was super excited until they told me that the product was collagen. I nearly dropped out of the trial but they said it was an activated liquid collagen and I wouldn’t need to swallow a ton of pills or mix those awful powders plus they told me that it was a phase two trial and the phase one consumers had seen inncredible results in 8 weeks, as in 42% thicker skin kind of results. That got my attention and sincce it was free to participate, I reluctantly and with no real expectation said, “Yes.”
To say the trial was a success is an understatement. The activated liquid collagen gave results so fast! Firmer skin was just the beginning. I use it every day along with my husbsand and many of our friends. We have experienced better skin, improved gut health, less brain fog, improved eyesight, better gum health and improved joint mobility for starters. I’m convinced that it also helps with bone health and it’s so easy to take. The activated liquid collagen shots we use tastes so good that I actually consider it a reward at the end of the day. Conclusion: Is Liquid Collagen Worth It?
While there are many different forms of collagen supplements available, liquid collagen peptides have been shown to be the most effective. With a faster absorption rate, higher concentration of collagen, easier to take, and many proven health benefits, liquid collagen is an excellent choice for anyone looking to boost their collagen levels and improve their overall health and well-being and for me personally, activated liquid collagen has been a significant game changer. So much so that I plan to take it for the rest of my life.
